A trip to Poznań always will be sentimental. No matter what will by the purpose of a visit this is a city that connects many memoirs, many palaces and the most important people. Today I have to finish what I didn't mange to do last times. But who knows maybe I'll be back here some day .

second week

It's been two weeks since I moved to Warsaw. First impression: this is huge and noisy city. And this unceasing traffic jam! I konw only the way from my new flat to my work, but I hope to experience many others routes:). I have to give it a chance.

a little bit of salsa

It will be around two years since I've started to take salsa classes. For those of you who don't know much about this style, it is very popular dance of Latin-American origin with strong influences form Cuba nad Puerto Rico.
When it comes to the origin salsa music was born in the years 1940-1970 from the fusion of afrocuban and caribbean rhythms under huge influence of jazz and developed mostly in Cuba, Puerto Rico and New York and other countries of Caribbean region.
Salsa culls form many different styles because of variety of origin and many locations where it has been developed. According to that large variations many styles of salsa have sorted out, which differ almost everything, starting with basic step, the way of leading the partner and ending with such important element like rythmic placement of the steps.
Few of the most popular style od salsa are: cuban ( also known as casino), salsa New York on 2 ( you can also find a name mambo on 2 or salsa on 2), Los Angeles style (L.A. style) and Rueda de Casino.
I believe that everyone can find a style of salsa that is suitable for him. Even if someone has no pair there is a hudge possibility to dance slasa solo.
Salsa community is growing all around the world which confirms the noumber of different festivalas and conventions.
I think that the most spectacular variation is rueda de casino, espacially on a large scale :)

something new

Recently a lot is going in, so I didn't have time to write here. I decided to take a step, for me quite a big one, cause I left from work and few days ago started a new one in very new for me city.
It has not been an easy decision for me as I spent in Poznan few years of my life and I met friends. For sure I will be visting them occasionally and maybe, some day I will be back here..
But  for now, I have to believe that change is good.

This time I will write a little bit about a style of dance that I like the most and feel the most comfortable with. Style which I enjoy the most is contemporary dance . It developed in the middle of XX century and ever since has grown and become more and more popular. Over time it turns out to be one of the domination performance genres for professional dancers all over the world, especially it gains ground n the U.S.and Europe. Originally contemporary derived from classical, modern and jazz styles but nowadays it combines and get inspiration from many dance styles.

As this is at some point mix of many other genres, contemporary dance incorporates such points as controlled legwork of ballet, stress on the torso from modern dances; it also employs contact-release technique, much floor work, very characteristic fall and recovery, and improvisation.
